Ilana is a Landscape Architect with over 10 years’ experience across diverse project types and scales, gained through working on multiple city shaping projects in Israel. During her practice she has had an opportunity to articulate and drive projects from initial vision and master planning through to on the ground outcomes, and to lead complex urban projects such as recreational parks, large-scale residential estates, major infrastructure projects, play spaces, etc., creating engaging places for social interactions. She is passionate about creating better environments for people, and her scope of experience spans both urban design and landscape architectural projects.
Ilana’s primary interest is in urban realm and connections between built form, nature and people. She holds an M.A. degree in Environmental Studies (Tel Aviv University, Israel). Ilana’s Master’s research focused on sustainable urban design in coastal cities, developing “generative” principles and tools which encourage the emergence of a connective interface between city and sea. Ilana’s approach to public domain based on an understanding of the active urban space as an emergent property developing from both physical characteristics and human activity, instead of resulting directly from city planning and design activities.
